Bombay Hills. It is part of a 100 acre pastoral farm and has
a beautiful view over the North Waikato.
All the wines are hand crafted here from grapes that are grown
on the property. The only process that takes place off site
We are 40 minutes south of the Auckland CBD and 50 minutes
north of Hamilton. Visiting the winery is by appointment -

What's Happening at Hitchen
The pruning is all done and the grapes are sleeping until the spring weather comes.
We have just racked our new wines and I am sure that you will enjoy them.
We were delighted to read this write up of our 2014 Chardonnay written by Michael Cooper in the Listener dated July 25-31:
"This bargain-priced wine was estate grown and hand-harvested at Pokeno in the North Waikato and barrel-aged for seven months. Mouthfilling and sweet-fruited, it has generous citrusy, peachy, slightly buttery flavours, integrated oak, considerable complexity and a well-rounded finish. It is ready to roll $18" (and of course much cheaper by the case or half case.
With all the work done for the moment we are off on our annual cycle trip. This year we are flying to Frankfurt and cycling to Nice. If you are interested in following our progress have a look at www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/three.
Our absence will not affect wine sales as our son is taking care of that side of things and we have friends staying in the house while we are away.
We return from Europe in early October and are looking forward to hosting a day of ‘Jazz in the Vines’ on November 8th as a fund raiser for the Maramarua Golf Club.
