Hitchen Road Vineyard award winning wines

Wines that are available at present are:

• 2009 Dolcetto
  This Italian variety from the Peidmonte region is a well coloured, luscious and easy drinking red.

• 2010 Pinotage
  Picked on 4.4.10, this wine has spent 15 months in a mixture of new and seasoned oak.  The result is a particularly smooth mouth filling wine with fruity aromas.

• 2009 Barrel Fermented Chardonnay
  Made in the traditional French method with whole bunch pressing, lees stirring and partial malo-lactic fermentation, this wine is mouthfilling and fresh with ripe peach, fig, citrus and nut flavours. It received four stars in Michael Cooper's 2011 wine guide and a bronze medal at the 2010 Romeo Bragatto completion.

• 2010 Rose
  This wine was made from Pinotage grapes picked on 30/3/10 at a Brix of 23.  The juice was cool fermented and the resulting wine is a beautiful shell pink colour with raspberry and tamarillo notes.  This will make great summer drinking with light meals.
